PAID DAY CARE AND WRAP AROUND
At Sugar Hill Head Start we serve Head Start children and Paid Day Care children. Head Start and More At Four children qualify for those programs based on their family income and other factors. Head Start children can attend from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. for free. For more details look at our Enrollment page.
At Early Head Start we serve Early Head Start and Paid Day Care children. Early Head Start children qualify for those programs based on their family income and other factors. Early Head Start children can attend from 8:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m. for free. For more details look at our Enrollment page.
Unfortunately, we can only offer LIMITED Wrap Around slots at the Sugar Hill Center and the Early Head Start Center. You must see Tammy Stackable at the Sugar Hill Center to sign up for Wrap Around or Robin Davis at Early Head Start center to sign up for Wrap Around at EHS.
At any given time we may have a waiting list for this program. If that is the case, the parent can put their child's name on the list for a slot. Listed below are the Full Time Private Pay rates for each age group.
How Do I get a PDC slot?
Parents don't need to fill out an application for the Paid program. All that is needed is for the parent to call in and give their name, the child's name and date of birth, and a working telephone number. When their child's name comes up on the wait list we will call them and start the process.
Program Requirements
If your child enrolls in PDC we need:
- Up-to-date Immunization Record
- Birth Certificate
- Social Security Number
- Current (within the past 12 months) Physical Exam
- Child Care Voucher from Department of Social Services (ONLY required if you are enrolled in the Child Care Subsidy program at DSS--see below)
Child Care Subsidy
Child Care Subsidy assistance is available to those who qualify (this is based on income and other factors). Parents must be either working or going to school to qualify for this assistance. You will be asked to provide proof of all income if you apply. If you qualify for Child Care Subsidy your Child Care Fee will be figured based on your income using the income guideline limits for Subsidy.
WRAP AROUND PROGRAM
At the Sugar Hill Center and Early Head Start Center we offer Before and After or "Wrap Around" care for Head Start and Early Head Start children. This program is only for children that are here free from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. This program covers the hours from 6 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. and the hours from 2:30 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. We charge a flat rate for this program. We also accept child care vouchers for this progam.
On Teacher Workdays anyone that DOES NOT receive child care subsidy will need to prepay $25 for their child to attend that day. EVERY child that is in Wrap Around will need to be signed up in advance of Teacher Workdays on sign up sheets provided in the classrooms or they WILL NOT be allowed to attend.
PAYMENTS ARE ACCEPTED AT THE FRONT OFFICES AT EARLY HEAD START AND AT THE SUGAR HILL OFFICE
NO CHILD MAY BE LEFT IN ANY OF OUR CENTERS FOR MORE THAN 10 HOURS!
WE ACCEPT VISA, MASTERCARD, AND DISCOVER FOR PAYMENT OF FEES AT THE SUGAR HILL CENTER OFFICE.

POLICY ON FEES
- PARENTS MUST FILL OUT AND SIGN A FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITY FORM FOR THE CHILD TO BE ENROLLED IN EITHER PAID DAY CARE OR WRAP AROUND
- PARENTS MUST INDICATE FREQUENCY OF PAYMENT ON THIS FORM: WEEKLY, BI-WEEKLY, OR MONTHLY
- PAYMENTS MUST BE MADE ON TIME OR LATE NOTICES WILL BE SENT OUT
- COLLECTIONS ACTION WILL BE TAKEN ON UNPAID FEES AND YOUR CHILD WILL LOSE THEIR SLOT IF FEES ARE UNPAID
- QUESTIONS REGARDING CHILD CARE FEES SHOULD BE DIRECTED TO THE FAMILY SERVICES COORDINATOR
IF YOU PAY BY CASH YOU MUST BRING CORRECT CHANGE!!!!
Parents must pay for all days that we are closed with the exception of the following weeks:
- Christmas Week
- Spring Break Week
- 4th of July Week
